A Nail by Any Other Color

Ever wanted to paint each nail a different color?
DO IT!
______________________

My rule for this project. Red on the right hand. Green on the left

Flower by Drew Barrymore Nail'd It Nail Lacquer
NP24 Evening Primrose
Starting off is a dark/dull green. I find it a weird color really. Not a color I would up and say "I'm painting all my nails this color!" But I do use it when I'm getting creative like with Camo Nails. Primrose does have sparkles but more a hint of them rather then really calling this a glitter polish.

Revlon Color Stay Long wearing Nail Enamel
220 Rain Forest
I found a dupe!!! I first had Glitzy Green by Salon Perfect then I found this bottle of Rain Forest at a really good price. I didn't realize that they were both the same color until doing this! You get what you pay for though. Revlon only takes two coats to the three Salon Perfect needed to look the same. I just checked their website and they no longer seem to carry Color Stay Long Wearing. Looks like they have a Gel polish taking it's place.

SP Salon Perfect Professional Nail Laquer
309 Glitzy Green
This is a dupe. Read above on Revlon's Rain Forest.

Pure Ice Nail Polish
Made in the USA
1023 Lucky Charming
Such a pretty color and oh so glittery! Pure Ice not to bad of a brand. Not ultra long lasting but fair. this took about 2 to 3 coats.

Pure Ice Nail Polish
Made in the USA
1026 Hit the Floor
Again Pure Ice and this in a stunning red. Reminds me of Dorothy's slippers in The Wizard of Oz. I've also seen a dupe of this I believe in Salon Perfect. I bought it in Pure Ice because it was cheaper.

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme wear Nail Color
240 Twisted Pink
You can hardly go too wrong with Sally Hansen. I can't find this color on their website. I bought it a year ago.

L. A. Colors Color Craze Nail Polish with hardeners
NP422 Lighting #13233
I normally take Wet n' Wild over LA Colors but I saw this color and wanted it! Neon Pink! It almost has a orange color to it. I like colors that just jump out at you like this. The polish it's self is pretty good. Not bad for a $1 bottle of polish!

Flower by Drew Barrymore Nail'd It Nail Lacquer
NP4 Gorgeous Gerbera
Flower has a strange mix of colors in my opinion. This one is a flesh-tone pink. One thing about Flower is that of all the polishes I used here, it is the longest lasting. So if you like the colors I would recommend it. It does have a thicker consistency so it can be a little harder to get is on the nail looking perfect.

The Pink Stars are Falling (in purple)

Yeah, I'm a watcher of Under the Dome. Really it's been the best TV series I've watched! But this post isn't about The Dome. It just came to mind when I took the shot above with the sky was so red. It looked like the time that they thought the outside world had been destroyed.

Blouse:
       No Boundaries
       RN#44480
       Color: Purple
       Style: FFNJ32006T
To go with the Under the Dome theme we have a butterfly blouse! I have another in blue with stars.
There is a lot going on in the front. Five ruffles going own the front so it might not be advisable for a larger in the bust lady to try this style. I'm a 32 A/B. (do you realize how hard it is to find underwear in a 32 ?!?!)
The fabric is sheer so you need a tank top or such underneath. I'm wearing a blue top here.

Pants:
  Faded Glory
Size 8A
You can also see these in this outfit too... Hitting the Runway

Makeup

Looking at the reviews for Cover Girl Black/Brown Blaze FLAMED OUT MASCARA quite a few people hated it. I personally think it's a good natural looking mascara in opposed to the dark black ones I normally wear. It's easy to put on without a mess, but as for the wands they give you... I'm still trying to figure out how to use them right! I found instructions on for this here... FLAMED OUT MASCARA Apparently I have not been doing it quite right... well, now I know... we'll see how that goes next time... :-)

Going with purple with the eyes too. This is a special stocking stuffer set from this Christmas. I'm a bit impressed with L.A. Colors eye shadow. Very shiny pearlescent look. Check out L.A. Colors Shadow's Dance Shadow for more about my experience with LA Color's Eye Shadow, it's DANCE PROOF!

There was a BOGO half off sale and so for my get one I took a chance with Wet N Wild FERGIE CENTER STAGE COLLECTION PERFECT POUT LIP COLOR  . Why? The glitter! This color stood out from the others in the collection because it had a glitter to it. It's a nice purple red hue. Wasn't sure how I was going to like it but I made a good chose. It lasts well too. The best way to put it on I have found is put a coat on clean lips and let it sit there for a few minutes. Reapply again. You can even do this a third time. Try it and let me know if it works for you!!!

Accessories
  • Necklace
Mystic Blue Topaz, remember these? They were so pretty! I don't see them anymore. This necklace is a simulated Topaz. I got this one because it matched a real Mystic Blue Topaz ring I already had. But real or not "Mystic Topaz" is a treated clear stone with a coating on the back to make it iridescent. So they may not last forever but they are really pretty and thus far the coating has not chipped or done anything weird yet. I've had this one over 10 years now.

And going back to the +Under The Dome theme....

Obnoxiously Neon Lighting: L.A. Colors

A quick find and pick me up as well, I guess... Been sick with a cold that's kept me in for days. I finally ventured out to Wal-mart. +Walmart I took a quick walk through the makeup department and saw this little bottle out of place on a shelf.

The COLOR!!! While in Westchester NY late last year I came across a bottle of nail polish I really liked. I like colors that jump out at you. I think it was also by L.A. Colors but a small bottle from their Art Deco Line... or was it Solon Perfect? Anyway... They are not so much for just painting your whole nail one color and a little more then I wanted to spend on it for how I wanted to use it. I looked from NY to AL for a large bottle of polish in any brand and found nothing that POPED like it did! I'd pretty much given up. But then yesterday! I picked it up looked around for where it came from. I eventually ended up price checking it at a scanner. 98 CENTS! Thank you LA Colors! +L.A. COLORS COSMETICS
I've been letting my nail rest from turning them yellow somehow through Christmas and they are just about over come it. I tried the color last night. Really pretty! Takes a number of coats but wow, this color POPS! Seems to have good staying power too. One nail had the polish peel off of but I'm pretty sure it's from sticking that finger too many times in a jar of homemade blueberry jam... :-)
I looked up this line and it has bunches of colors! I'm planning to find more of these to see if any of the others pop out at me as well!

Denim Day Off

Just cause you’re not working doesn’t mean you can’t look nice on your day off too!

______________

T-shirt:
  • White Stag
Size S (4/6)

Rn #59343

Style: FFW5482129F

UPS# 60535547958

Modern

This outfit kind of fell together and I really like this combination! Shirt is made by White Stag. 100% cotton. I have no idea what is written on this other than "Paris" but there is a lot of French to go along with pictures of French landmarks. The front side is beaded. The sleeves are elbow length. This shirt is a small but it’s a very lose fit on me.

Jacket:

Size L

RN# 17730

Made in Bangladesh

Modern

I'm also wearing this jacket here as well....
Is That Scary For You. Baby?

Pants:
  • Faded Glory Quality Goods
Size 10P

Made in Bangladesh

RN# 52469

No vanity sizing with these. These are nearly too big on me but quite comfy for everyday wear. Might need to just alter these eventually cause it’s nice to have lose jeans. At some point these did fit me. I have lost a lot of weight through the years. When I went Gluten free and made other healthy eating changes my weight started to drop again. My almost too tight skinny jeans from not that long ago are now my fairly lose skinny jeans. These date back farther than those. Long enough to have a real weathered look to them.

I'm also wearing this here....

Shoes:
Size 9

Check back on other looks. I wear these a lot. They are a very soft plastic and the color goes along with more outfits then I thought they would!
I'm also wearing this here....

   Casual Biz
   Rainy Day Sparkle

Makeup:

It’s your day off… Theater requires a LOT of makeup. There have been times I have just stopped wearing makeup outside of work! A lot of the time it just depends on my mood.

Day off = no makeup other than gloss. (I have to take mind to control my buying of lip sticks and gloss! I’ve got a good collection.)

After going Gluten Free, yes, I do have very good skin but I’ve been on the other side too. (Hey, I weighed 225 once!) I want this to be a Healthy Beauty Blog not one that tells you that you are more awesome when dressed and made up to the T and wearing a 2. Life is much more valuable than that. Being beautiful is a life style that should be grown from the inside out. Don’t be too scared to go out with no makeup and feel comfortable about it! Let me tell ya, good friends won’t care and your life will not end. Just saying…. ;-) And really you could be the most perfect person on earth and SOMEONE will most likely find something to go at you about. It’s not that you’re fat or look like a connect dot’s sheet of acne. People put people down quite often to make themselves feel better then you. It’s them that have the problem cause the fact is, no one is perfect… it’s how you handle your imperfect self… some put others down… in turn you put yourself down… in turn nobody is really happy. I encourage you to realize this silliness and enjoy who you are.

Lips:
I got this Markwins gloss in a Christmas set. It was like a set of 5 or 6. Not my favorite Gloss, it’s a little watery but wearable. I also wish it was a bit more moisturizing. It is watery but it does have a pretty good color intensity.

I used the "Rosie Pink" in the middle of my lips creating a two tone look you’re seeing out there now. I was surprised how well the combo worked.

Haha, my mom loves this LA Colors Gloss! The color does not go on as brightly as it looks in the tube but it is a quality gloss. Like I said, my mom loved it… not sure I’m sold on it… but I haven’t used it much (My mom lost it when she borrowed it…)

Accessories
  • Flower clip
I picked up this at one of those small dollar stores that was down the street from my place in NJ. There were two of them. Right before I left I saw one of these and thought, that looks fall’ish and grabbed it. It’s a golden brown flower with matching feathers. It happens to match the piping in the Jacket.

Hair:
  • Jaw Clip
Brushed to one side. Hand twist hair to base of pony tale. Twist remaining hair in a ball and clip on a large jaw clip.
