   Lately I have not been impressed by most of the shoes Walmart is selling. I've had these a number of years and they so far are holding up really well and they don't look like a cheep shoe either. Due to the color, green they don't match everything but when they do match an outfit they look great! I know they are hard to see in these picture... may get a better shot of them in the future!

   And yet another GEORGE ME (by Mark Eisen) Walmart's +Walmart.COM attempt to coming out with a higher in designer line. And again I found it on a clearance rack. I debated on buying it as it has a 1960's school girls look to it but after realizing I could wear a blouse under it I got it... which does nothing to make it look less like a 1960's first grader.... but I liked it!
    The fabric is modern though and comfortable to wear. Has a bit of stretch to it, aka Spandex. Not that it really needs any but it does make it more comfortable to relax in.

    This was my mom's blouse. I don't know how old it is but I know it's vintage. There were a lot of blouses in the 70's and 80's that were lovely but made of awful fabrics! Makes me sad cause I would wear them if they were like this one, made out of cotton or some sort of cotton blend.
    When I wore it here: Changing Decades. I didn't get a shot of the fancy work on the sleeves! Spring is coming so the arms are gonna start seeing daylight again.

    I have just started wearing tights again. I'm actually finding them comfortable!
    I'm quite tall so short dresses become mini's on me and I'm a classy girl, so... in comes the tights!

• Costume Locket and Key Pin

    A real working locket with dark hot pink rhinestones and a small key charm dangle. I for some reason like the heart key concept in jewelry. I don't have a picture in this one but a swab of fabric sprayed with perfume. And if your wondering it's Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck. Yeah, the real stuff! I found a fair deal after Christmas and bought it. I'd been wanting it for a year!

    Not really using a foundation but did rub in some blush. "Headliner" is a very natural color on me.

   Define-a-lash for the lashes. Got a Maybelline trend going on the eyes here. I have a old thing of "Grey Matters". They still carry this set but now you get more of the light grey then the dark... ok... anyway.... I used the light grey on my lids.
   Oh and I nearly forgot, I used Elf's Eyeliner pin around my eyes. Trying to not be too dramatic with it though. I like the way this pin works. My only issue with it is that it needs to be stored up right or  it won't write right. Oh, it not water proof either... but it gets the job done other wises.

I went out of my way to find a color called "PinkerBelle" last year after seeing it on Pinterest +Pinterest Fan Page | News, Updates & Business   I liked it so much that when I crossed a really good sell on MegaLast lipsticks I picked up two colors that popped out at me. Gotta luv the vibrant shades coming out now!

Winter Blues for Super Party

    A classic looking black jacket by GEORGE ME. A line carried by Walmart. The thing about this line is that some from the line are cheaply made but others are so well made that they don't look like something that came from Wal-mart! The reason for this is Walmart teamed up with Mark Eisen to create a higher in designer line for Walmart. I really don't think it went over that well being it is getting harder if at all to find a thing of quality on the Walmart clothing racks. And really I found a lot of my GEORGE ME were found at a clearance price and thrown with cheaper quality articles.

   This is a fun style sweater. I got it at a Joyce Leslie, a clothing store found in the NY area. +Joyce Leslie  They have cute modern stylish clothes and if you catch the sales right you can really get some deals.
   This sweater has sequins woven in the whole piece. I will admit those could be rough on bare skin.
   One side of the arm there is a real working zipper.

   I did not realize this skirt was that old. I've had it for years. I have two black skirts. One long. One short. After moving to NY I discovered I brought the short one but not the long one! Finally at last I have been reunited again!
   It's a circle skirt. It's labeled as a 6 but it's a very small 6. Perhaps due to it being vintage and I thing someone may have moved over the hooks on the waist band.
   I don't recall ever seeing the following on a content label...

Make-up

• Wet n Wild Vicious Varnish High Shine Lip Stain Fergie Line +FergieVEVO  "Ball in Vienna"

   I'll only highlight the lips here. I was on the way to a Super Bowl party after church so I'm not even sure what was on my face besides the lip stain.
   This was a, I like the color on this model and lets find it on the shelf beneath but the color in not named in the photo! This color looked the closest and I'm happy with the choice!
   I also mention "Ball in Vienna" in "Party With the Young'uns" HERE
   A very bright rich color and lasting. Feels weird at first but once it sets it's pretty lasting! I would like to get my hands on another color but they are hard to find. I've only found them at two Walgreens. Id like to find it in a redder red. It's very glossy! I like MEGA LAST® LIQUID LIP COLOR but it's not as glossy as this gloss.

Cookie, Cookie, Cookie: Gluten Free

 

   One of my first words.. maybe even my first word was "Cookie" or something that meant that and sounded close to it :-)
   We just had the Holidays and that means get togethers and pot luck dinners! BUT this it a scary time for Celiacs! Your taking a calculated risk with each dish you sample. Some are pretty easy to figure out but others... well, that's the holidays. I've been doing really well this Christmas. As I'm eating healthier by cutting out high fructose corn syrup, MSGs, & artificial sweeteners.... I'm sure I'm breaking my diet on some stuff but the most important thing I need to avoid is Gluten. I've gone to a number of parties this year bring Gluten Free Cookies AND I didn't have to make them from scratch!
   Pillsbury makes gluten free cookie dough pre-mixed! (Brown Sugar, Rice Flour, Semisweet Chocolate Chips (sugar, chocolate liquor, cocoa butter, soy lecithin, natural flavor), Water, Palm Oil, Canola Oil, Sugar, Corn Starch, Modified Potato Starch. Contains 2% or Less of: Eggs, Modified Tapioca Starch, Salt, Baking Soda, Xanthan Gum, Natural Flavor.)  And they taste REALLY GOOD! Going gluten free I have noticed there is an unpleasant taste to things that contain gluten. It's sort of bitter.
   These cookie are also made with no artificial sweeteners. They are made with real sugar and that's something a lot of people may not understand or realize the real sugar is better for you then artificial sweeteners including high fructose corn syrup. A lot of people think sodas will make you fat because of all the sugar... what they don't realize is there isn't even real sugar in sodas!!! For the most part it is high fructose corn syrup! But lets keep this subject for another day and stick with cookies.
   On the Pillsbury site they carry several Gluten Free items and a number of Gluten-Free Recipes!

  With that being said they are at times hard to find much like other Gluten Free goodies. But I know they have in the past carried Pillsbury Gluten Free Dough.

Granite Nails: How To

   I'm one for cool effect nails. Always have been. There has been a lot of effect nail polish out lately and one that has really caught my eye looks like granite... not just for you countertops anymore... :-)
  However they are a bit more complicated then throwing a layer of polish on your nails. The way I managed the look is to layer 3 different polishes. My version here had a glittery spin which some granite has sparkle and you know I like sparkle!
  You may have to do it differently depending of what polish your using but here is my formula...

• Revlon 1706-01 "KhakiZing" 376
• SP Salon Perfect Professional Nail Lacquer 311 "Platinum Party" Limited Edition
• SP Salon Perfect Professional Nail Lacquer 321 "Loves Me Loves Me Not"

  Step 1:   You need a solid coat of color for the bottom layer. I used "KhakiZing" by Revlon. This is an old bottle I have had for YEARS. They don't make this color anymore. It's very similar to the color of peacocks. Changing colors of purple, green, to blue.
   After removing "KhakiZing" I found it stained my nails! So, note, don't apply this color to you naked nails. A base coat is needed to keep from having awful looking nails when removed.

  Step 2:   This is a clear gloss "Platinum Party" with various size gray colored glitter. Made by Salon Perfect from the collection Holiday Sparkle, according to the website this color is only sold at Walmart. Do one to two coats of this. It covers well so you might be good with one coat.

  Step 3:   And last what makes this look really cool! :-) This is labeled as a "Top Coat" on the bottle. This is not meant to be worn alone. "Loves Me Loves Me Not" is also made by Salon Perfect. It's a clear coat with specks of black and pale-pale pink. It took two coats for me to get it looking like I wanted it to look. I like it!

And, you're DONE!
(I recommend you use a drying coat when your through. I don't know about you but I am awful at banging up my nails after painting them!)

Sunday Evening Concert Look

   I recently attended a concert on a Sunday evening. Great concert, really glad I was asked to go but to the point of this blog...

 This was the first time I have worn this dress. What I love about it is the sheer layer on top in a soft flowing 100% silk. Lining is 100% polyester.
The quality of this dress is amazing for It's price range of around $50 retail.

 These are heels from Walmart... what can I say... but you can get some cool heels a Walmart! I've worn them a few times already and they are pretty comfortable! All man made material I'm sure. They are around 4inches high.

Eyes

• Love My Eyes concealer stick (not pictured)

Concealer is used as a foundation for the shadow. Elf shadow covers eyelid and above eye crease. The Maybelline green is placed within the crease and winged out a little with brush. It is blinded into the brown so not to be to harsh of a look.
 Eyelashes have a couple of coats of Maybelline NY Define-a-lash Mascara Very Black. I like this mascara. I got it in a set of mascaras and really just started using it cause the one I bought the set for I have about ran out of. I can take a bath with this on my eyes. Wash my face and it's clings like I don't know what! And I have very sensitive eye's and Maybelline NY is the only brand I use since I everything else I've tried burns them so bad!

Eye Brow

• Hard <3 Candy Single and Loving it 517 "Night Out" eye shadow

Using a shadow brush lightly (and I mean LIGHTLY) brush into eyebrow to make them darker. Don't, PLEASE don't go to far with it or it will not look good. Sorry, I'm just a fan of natural eyebrows...

Skin

• Avon Shimmer bronzing "Shake and Go" Powder Brush Light
• ELF HD Blush "Headliner" *83231
• Shimmer Powder Brand unknown (came in a Walmart Christmas set)

  Since my skin is in rather good shape and the weather is so hot outside all I put on as foundation was some brushes with Avon's "Shake and Go" Powder Brush. As for blush, I found that ELF had the color Blush that I could not find anywhere anymore! This is the most natural blush color for me and I use to buy it in another brand until they stopped making it. I then found a limited edition Revlon Blush that was the same but it was a limited edition color!!! This was pretty annoying. When Walmart started selling ELF I saw the blush and put some on my hand and wow, this stuff was good! A little goes a long way and the stuff is in the $2/$3 range! Elf is a great brand and hey, if you find you hate it for some reason your only losing a few dollars. That's more to say for other brands that would sell this product for way more!
  As for the Shimmer Powder. I like glitter so I throw a little on the shoulders and neck for fun.

Lips:

• Megaslicks  Wet n Wild Balm Stain Moisturizing Lip Color 125 "Red-dy or Not"
• Avon Ultra Rich 24K Gold Lipstick K503 Chocolate Gold

  First I put a thin coat of Wet n Wild Megaslick on my lips. To be honest this stuff is not very moisturizing but it is one of my most used lipstick due to how long lasting it is. I will put this on as a base coat and put another color over it which in this case was Avon's Chocolate Gold. I've had this a while and it's not a color I use a lot of but it looks good when I'm wearing something the color compliments. There is real 24K in this stuff. I read people complaining about it clumping... not much of an issue to me. I don't sell Avon anymore but I still use and recommend their products. Just so you know I nor anyone I know is making anything on my recommending Avon. Honestly they have good products.

Scent

• Paris Hilton +Paris Hilton  for Women

So you can't smell me online... haha, what a thought. But this is one of my favorite perfumes. My cousin upon getting a whiff of me one day wearing it said I smelled like roses. I guess it does have a sent of roses with a fruity blind. Two things I like the smell of, roses and fruit. I've read a lot of people online don't like it very much. Actually my mom likes the knockoff better then the real thing! But I own a bottle of the real stuff and I prefer it but the knock off isn't bad. It's kind of the reason I wanted a bottle of the real thing!

Jewlery

  I have wanted a real cameo for a long time. This was my grandmother's sister's cameo I got after she died.
