Denim Day Off

Just cause you’re not working doesn’t mean you can’t look nice on your day off too!

______________

T-shirt:
  • White Stag
Size S (4/6)

Rn #59343

Style: FFW5482129F

UPS# 60535547958

Modern

This outfit kind of fell together and I really like this combination! Shirt is made by White Stag. 100% cotton. I have no idea what is written on this other than "Paris" but there is a lot of French to go along with pictures of French landmarks. The front side is beaded. The sleeves are elbow length. This shirt is a small but it’s a very lose fit on me.

Jacket:

Size L

RN# 17730

Made in Bangladesh

Modern

I'm also wearing this jacket here as well....
Is That Scary For You. Baby?

Pants:
  • Faded Glory Quality Goods
Size 10P

Made in Bangladesh

RN# 52469

No vanity sizing with these. These are nearly too big on me but quite comfy for everyday wear. Might need to just alter these eventually cause it’s nice to have lose jeans. At some point these did fit me. I have lost a lot of weight through the years. When I went Gluten free and made other healthy eating changes my weight started to drop again. My almost too tight skinny jeans from not that long ago are now my fairly lose skinny jeans. These date back farther than those. Long enough to have a real weathered look to them.

I'm also wearing this here....

Shoes:
Size 9

Check back on other looks. I wear these a lot. They are a very soft plastic and the color goes along with more outfits then I thought they would!

Makeup:

It’s your day off… Theater requires a LOT of makeup. There have been times I have just stopped wearing makeup outside of work! A lot of the time it just depends on my mood.

Day off = no makeup other than gloss. (I have to take mind to control my buying of lip sticks and gloss! I’ve got a good collection.)

After going Gluten Free, yes, I do have very good skin but I’ve been on the other side too. (Hey, I weighed 225 once!) I want this to be a Healthy Beauty Blog not one that tells you that you are more awesome when dressed and made up to the T and wearing a 2. Life is much more valuable than that. Being beautiful is a life style that should be grown from the inside out. Don’t be too scared to go out with no makeup and feel comfortable about it! Let me tell ya, good friends won’t care and your life will not end. Just saying…. ;-) And really you could be the most perfect person on earth and SOMEONE will most likely find something to go at you about. It’s not that you’re fat or look like a connect dot’s sheet of acne. People put people down quite often to make themselves feel better then you. It’s them that have the problem cause the fact is, no one is perfect… it’s how you handle your imperfect self… some put others down… in turn you put yourself down… in turn nobody is really happy. I encourage you to realize this silliness and enjoy who you are.

Lips:
I got this Markwins gloss in a Christmas set. It was like a set of 5 or 6. Not my favorite Gloss, it’s a little watery but wearable. I also wish it was a bit more moisturizing. It is watery but it does have a pretty good color intensity.

I used the "Rosie Pink" in the middle of my lips creating a two tone look you’re seeing out there now. I was surprised how well the combo worked.

Haha, my mom loves this LA Colors Gloss! The color does not go on as brightly as it looks in the tube but it is a quality gloss. Like I said, my mom loved it… not sure I’m sold on it… but I haven’t used it much (My mom lost it when she borrowed it…)

Accessories
  • Flower clip
I picked up this at one of those small dollar stores that was down the street from my place in NJ. There were two of them. Right before I left I saw one of these and thought, that looks fall’ish and grabbed it. It’s a golden brown flower with matching feathers. It happens to match the piping in the Jacket.

Hair:
  • Jaw Clip
Brushed to one side. Hand twist hair to base of pony tale. Twist remaining hair in a ball and clip on a large jaw clip.

Is That Scary For You, Baby?

First off… if you have never seen Michael Jackson’s +Michael Jackson  Ghost, it’s time! It impressed me more then Thriller the first I saw it! Check it out at the end of this post!

And so rolls through another Halloween!!! Always one of my favorite holidays because of all the fun of putting on a costume! I even continued with the costumes as an adult. I have not missed a year but one, which was the year of Sandy. I spent that Halloween in a Red Cross shelter... tops on my worst hurricane experiences...

  T-Shirt:
Target T

Size M
RN# 17730
Made in Honduras
Modern
This is my favorite Halloween T-shirt! Not gory or evil, but beautifully creepy which is my style. :-) A large candelabra with spiders and spider webs.

Jacket:

Size L
RN# 17730
Made in Bangladesh
Modern
By what I can gather Mossissue is made by Mossimo Supply Co. sold now only in the US by Target. Otherwise I'm not familiar with the brand. Nice comfy jacket. Been wearing it a lot lately in the northern Fall weather. I am surprised how warn denim can be!

Pants:
Faded Glory Quality Goods

Size 10P
Made in Bangladesh
RN# 52469
Modern

These pants are comfy but too BIG! I need to fix these! I hate wearing belts unless they are some fancy cool thing that is more for looks!

Hat:
Bongo

Size OSFM (One Size Fits Most)
Made in China
Smooth Criminal… yeah, gotta Michael Jackson theme going on here for sure!

Got this hat on clearance at K-mart +Kmart . I’m a hat wearing type of girl. Love it in the north that you have an excuse to wear a hat for warmth. I’ve been a hat fan as long as I can remember.
As for "One Size Fit Most" if this hat were any smaller it would not fit my head.

Makeup:
NYC Liquid Lip Shine 554U Sungold Pink
Avon Glaze wear Liquid Lip Color G322 "Coral Beat"

Day off = little makeup ;-) Just some lip gloss fun. The main coat is this unique almost metallic Pink from New York Color. I’ve had this gloss for years. I doubt they sell it anymore. I did a Google search for it and looks like you can pick it up on E-bay if it's worth over $10 a tube to you. It has lacquer type feel. For a two tone effect I have been seeing lately I put Avon’s "Coral Beat" in the insides of my lips.
Avon changed their formula for Glazewear quite a while ago. This is the old formula I got a hold of when I sold Avon. I have to agree the old formula was better then what they replaced it with. It’s more moisturizing and thicker.

Hair:

Braids! No, I wasn't going for the Adam’s Family look. This is just an easy way to wear my hair to keep it contained.

Jewelry:
Sleepy Hollow Pumpkin Jack-O-Lantern Bracelet

This is really my mom’s but I wanted to share it with you all. It isn’t marked with a brand but it’s well made. Came from the Phillipsburg Manor Rockefeller estate gift shop where I work in Sleepy Hollow during the Halloween season.

____________
Now as promised... Michael Jackson's "Ghosts" ... enjoy :-)

Casual Biz

My work requires a bit of travel at times. These were taken at a park not far from my work on the first day I arrived after the long  road trip there. I work as an actor so I can wear whatever I want to get there in and my costumes are supplied for me. But here I was headed to a meeting to get briefed on stuff and get my contract set.

  ______________

T-shirt:
     Size M (8/10)
     RN#123187
    Made in Salvador
    Modern

I got several of these Danceskin T-shirts a while back on a clearance sale and have never worn them. Decided to pull them out for the fall! A number of my everyday clothes are starting to go beyond their prime in life. Fade the old ones out and throw some new ones in…
I love these due to their tie to dance. I love dance! This shirt has the Danceskin logo with the title “MOVE” in big letters.

Shirt is made from 100% Organic Cotton.

Pants:
Faded Glory Quality Goods
    Size 10A
    RN#78096
    Made in China
    Modern

Here we go with the sizing again… this is the smallest size 10... it’s more like a 6. Why can’t these companies get together and decide on a standardized size chart?!
Anyway, these are really pretty with black and clear rhinestones on the pockets. Didn’t get a good shot of the back of them… will have to include that later when I wear them again.

Belt:
Unknown
    Vintage

We bought this belt thinking it was made for someone who was just really large and thought we would just cut it down to fit. I later realized you are suppose to wrap it around twice!
It’s a thin white leather type (man-made, I believe) belt studded with round multi colored rhinestones. I’m pretty sure this is from at least the 1990’s maybe early 90’s or mid/late 80’s. It has no labels.

Coat:
Hard Candy

    Size M (7-9) Juniors
   Made in China
    Modern

Hot pink hoodie with crystal rhinestones in the shape of a diamond on one side. Made in a soft velvet fabric. You can’t really see the diamond in the picture. I tried to get it in there but it got covered by my hair.
Hard Candy is more of a makeup line then clothes but every once in a while I will see clothing by them. This is the first piece of clothing I’ve ever bought made by Hard Candy. I like their make-up. It’s fun and glittery… (once I get over the fact it looks/sounds like a make-up brand for hookers… lol… )

Shoes:
Bongo
    Size 9

 My "go to" shoes lately.
Rainy Day Sparkle
Coffee With Friends

Makeup:
  Face

I found this True Match by L'Oreal at a crazy cheap price and appeared to be close to my skin tone. Well, really I found two shades and bought both but I used Porcelain W1 here. These are not something I would buy to try at full price but the clearance price I found it at was cheap enough to give it a shot!
L'Oreal True Match is pretty good! IF… you have the right skin for it. The trouble I have with it is my skin can be quite dry in spots and this stuff goes on to a powder finish which makes the dry spots really show up as flaky. If your face tends to be oily this might be a better match but I do like the feel and how it goes on. This time I used it for the first time in a while and I managed to make it look really good so maybe I can use this if I find a way it works best on me.
Use the cover sticks as needed.
I used my blush first this time and blended the foundation and powder into it. This creates a more subtle natural look. (Kind of a peek through effect.) The true match comes next. I then used a darker shade of powder that I normally wear and used it in a more bronzing way then as a powder.

  Lips:
First I put on the Balm Stain. I like to do this in case the lip stick comes off there is a more permanent color underneath so you don’t have to worry so much with reapplying your lip color. “Red-dy or Not” and “Retro Red are very similar in color. “Red-dy” looks just a touch darker then “Retro”
As for “Moisturizing”… don’t get your hopes up. It works good as a stain but I have not found it very moisturizing.
“Retro Red” goes on top of the stain. I bought this color because I was in a show and needed a really red color. And since it was a show and I wasn’t making big bucks for it I went with a cheap tube of New York Color. Again let me say, price does not always tell you how good a makeup will be. It probably was around a $1 or two but it’s a good simple tube of lipstick!

Eyes Brows:
I’ve been using Hard Candy Black eye shadow for my brow but this time went and used my Avon Eye liner. I use to always use the Avon. They eye shadow was something new I tried that I liked the effect of.

Eyes:
This is the first time I have tried ELF Eyeliner. Found a set of 5 colors in Target. Results is pretty good. The only eyeliner pencil I have ever gotten to work was Avon. I do much better with liquid liners but ELF along with Avon works. Still not the precision of a liquid but will do for basic eye lining.
For my lids I used a cream shadow. I used the medium pink in the set. Really I don’t know anything about this brand. I found two sets of different colors and bought both. The cases open with a nice mirror inside. I didn’t pay much for it… really, I may use the mirror more than I do the actual makeup!
In the inner corners I use Revlon Cheek Glaze “Glow”. I’ve had this stuff for years. I use to use it for stage makeup for highlights when I was still in youth theater. Same effect could be done with a white shimmer eye shadow.
For my lids I used a cream shadow. I used the medium pink in the set. Really I don’t know anything about this brand. I found two sets of different colors and bought both. The cases open with a nice mirror inside. I didn’t pay much for it… really, I may use the mirror more than I do the actual makeup!

Accessories:
  • Ballet Dancer Silver necklace
  • Blue headband
Again wearing my Ballet Dancer. (Rainy Day Sparkle) A reminder of the pain I went through taking Ballet… but I still love it and need to find a legit dance studio to start taking again!
Blue head band, in which I don’t remember where I got it but it was in a set at a good price… I want to say it was at Target… maybe…

Rainy Day Sparkle

It happens, you have rainy days. But a get together with your friends can be a pick-me-up!

Top:

Dream Out Loud by Selena Gomez
+Selena Gomez
Size M
Made in China
Modern

I really like this line! It's low cost and fun. It's not the quality of higher end clothes. So don't expect this to last a life time, just have fun with it!
This tank top (100% Rayon) has four rows of different colors covered in iridescent paillettes. It fits pretty lose on me so it works good for layering.

  Green Sports Top
Size Unknown
No Label

Again using the green hand-me-down from my mom.

Pants:

 Jordache
Size 6
Modern

I didn't think I'd like skinny jeans but I actually like these. As a kid I would refuse to wear pants so it's taken a very LONG TIME for me to make friends with pants. Add a little bling to them and it makes it better. This pair is rather plain but I'm pretty comfortable in them.

Shoes:
  Bongo
 Size 9
 Modern

I've been needing a good pair of flats for a while now. It's weird that I've been able to find fancy high heels cheaper then a pair of every day flats!!!
Found these at K-mart. So far they are holding up. I tend to wear the same shoes everyday unless it's more of a dress up day. Then I grab from my collection of heels!

Makeup:

  Face
Was having a little Gluten reaction to something and so used ELF Zit Zapper to calm it down a little.
Cover Girl Press Powder, rub the applicator in the pressed power and then rub... I mean rub the powder onto you skin (beauty tip from the past)
Then comes the HD Blush. I know sometimes stores don't always like this but if they want a sell they better put up with it. (please be responsible and not put something directly on your lips or jam your finger into the product! Just saying, even if you are trying a sample use some sense if you do need to see it on your skin before buying. Also if an item is sealed shut and there is no way to see it other then breaking it, don't.) I tried this blush on my hand before buying it. I was unaware though of how the bottle can give more then you expect and it goes a LONG way! LOL... so a warning to anyone new to this blush! It doesn't take much and only pump it just a little to get it to come out or you might have a mess on your hands! I really liked the color and bought it.

Eyebrow:
This is really eye shadow but works great for your brows.
I got these brushed years ago. They have the softest feel and you can tell a difference in how your makeup look when you use them. It look much smoother. For this I use the "Angled Shadow Brush".

Eyes:
  • Maybelline New York The Colossal Volum' Express Glam Black
  • Maybelline Eyestudio Color Explosion Luminizing 15 Forest Fury
I've been using Maybelline NY Define-a-lash Mascara Very Black a lot lately so I thought I'd change it up a little and go with Colossal Volum' Express Glam Black. It came in a set of Maybelline mascaras I found. I've used this one before but not lately. It's ok, I like Maybelline's basic formula I have sensitive eyes and it's had to find mascara that doesn't burn them. Colossal Volum' Express wants to clump a little which is what I dislike about it the most, but even so it looks good on.
For eye shadow I decided to go with a pop of yellow. I used the bottom yellow on my lids and a sparkling yellow at the top above my eyelids. I was surprised how glittery the yellow was in this set. I had seen these a while back liking the colors. I just recently got a set of my own. The yellow glitter one, oh yeah!!! Beautiful!

Lips:
  • Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
  • Avon Ultra Color Rich Extra Plump Lipstick H1 Rosewood
  • Avon Glazewear Shine Lip Gloss
My lips have been dry. I like to use Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm cause I like the smell and zingy feeling it has. It's good to moisturize your like as it is your face and such. I'm not the best at doing this as much as I should but sore split lips tend to remind you if you don't ;-)
Lipstick I used is Avon Rosewood. I haven't worn this in a while. I like the color. Sort of a muted red/rose'ish color. Does it plump your lips? Nah! But I still really like it. At the most the clear center might create and illusion but honestly I don't see it. Beside just liking the color I like the zing/pepperminty feel. I use to use it when going to cattle call auditions on what is painful hours for real actors! Kind of woke me up a little! Ugh.
Layered over the Rosewood I put an Avon light pink gloss. I'd tell you the color but the sticker fell off of it!
The lips stick and gloss I used here are not long lasting like the new stuff you can get now but they still are good lipsticks/glosses

Nails:
  • Wet n Wild  Fast dry nail color 224C The Wonder Years
  • Living Nightmare Black Nail Polish
  • Broadway Nails High Shine Nail Polish Pretty Duckling #16
Here comes the crazy nails again! I painted all but my left thumb and right hand right finger with "The Wonder Years". A pretty and nearly but not quite metallic color yellow. Has a bit of iridescent to it. On the left thumb and right ring finger I painted black with some polish that must have come in some Halloween set and is old and nearly dried out but I got it to work well enough. I think I might buy a good bottle of black since I like how this turned out. On top of the black I put Broadway Nails High Shine. You can get these for a dollar and they look great! At least this color does! Haven't gotten around to trying another color... hmm... should see if it comes in black...
Oh and on my left ring finger I layered some yellow Broadway glitter on it too.

Accessories:

  Ann Taylor
+Ann Taylor
100% Silk
Made in China
Vintage

I believe this is Vintage but not sure how old. A guess would be late 60's early 70's. Pipe in if you know. I picked this up in a small thrift shop in NJ. The owner didn't even speak English. Got a couple cool things from there.

Jewelry:

  Ballet Dancer (silver, enamel, rhinestones)
I take to ballet more then I do Jazz. Got this little pendent some years back when I was taking dance to improve my skills. Such an elegant dance. I also love lyrical.
This pendant is silver but sadly the rhinestones started changing colors soon after I got it! Maybe eventually they all will turn the same color! Don't buy jewelry from Wal-mart unless you mind the finish chipping off or stones changing colors! Otherwise it's a very pretty necklace and has meaning to me.

  Bracelet (glass, metal)
I was looking for rhinestones for a costume and ended up buying this bracelet. It's just pretty!

Coffee with Friends

Something about getting together with friends at a coffee shop I love. I don't drink so coffee's my drug ;-) And I have some pretty cool friend too.
 ______________

Top:
  Unlabeled

Green sports top. This look is made from a number of item's I've had for a while. Fun to mix things up for a different look. Since I made NY my 2nd home I have also picked up the art of layering... I'm finding myself doing it in the summer when I don't need to stay warm!
This top was a hand me down from my mom. If there was a label in it it isn't there now.

  No Boundaries:
 Size Medium (7/9)
 Made in the Philippines

I have had this top for at least 7 years and have worn it many times and it still looks nearly as nice as the day I got it! I believe it came with a crocheted pink bolero. I still have it too.
Unlike the new clothes Wall-mart is trying to sell now that will last you at the most 6-12 months if that this still has a few more years to go. Take care of your clothes and they will last if they were made with quality work and fabrics. A shame what some stores as offering these days. Cute designs, yes... will you get tired of it before it falls apart?
Being 95% cotton %5 spandex it breaths which is good when it's hot outside.

Skirt:
  GEORGE ME (by Mark Eisen)
Size 12
Made in Bangladesh

Again another piece I've had for a long time. Most likely as long as the pink top. George is a brand I have liked for a while. It's like the top of the line for what you can buy at stores like Wall-mart. I have a number of very well made clothing in the George brand that they would only have one of. It was odd cause these items would be much higher quality then anything else in the store! GEORGE ME is made by designer Mark Eisen.
This skirt is made of 100% cotton with a 35% Cotton and 65% Polyester under skirt.

Shoes:
  Bongo
  Size 9
  Modern

Teal blue slip-ons. These are new. It's surprising how many things this color will go with.

Makeup:

  • Maybelline NY Define-a-lash Mascara Very Black
  • Wet n Wild MegaLast Pinkerbell #968
Keeping it simple. If your "friends" are going to judge you for lack of makeup then you need some friends.
Maybelline Define-a-lash I have been wearing a lot lately. I mean this stuff is good! Looks good and stays put.
PINKERBELL!!! Ok, I went out of my way to find a stick of this! I saw this color on Pinterest and wanted it! Wet n Wild is not a bad brand. Don't let the price fool you. This stick was around $2. I figured it wasn't too much to lose if it wasn't what I was expecting. It is a lovely color and lasts! It's light feeling on your lips but don't try to layer this on top of anything else. It works best on bare lips.

Jewelry
  •   Vintage Cameo
  •   Rhinestone Bracelet
Again wearing my Grand-aunt's cameo. To match the blues in the skirt I'm wearing a seafoam rhinestone bracelet. I don't recall the brand. I should have the tag around here somewhere...

Scent:
This is an imitation (or as I loosely call a knock-off) of Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck. I do have a bottle of the real stuff but I just don't have the money to spend on a large bottle of it. This is quite close to the real thing. Not quite as long lasting & strong but the scent is really close. This is one of my favorites scents! You can pick up a large bottle of Wonderful in the $3 to $6 range. The real Wonderstruck in this size retail is near $60.

Notes:

Oh, and if your wondering, I got an Ice Latte Hazelnut Soy. Some with Gluten problems can also have sensitivity to dairy. Last time I got an ice coffee at Starbucks +Starbucks Coffee  with cream it didn't seem to agree with me so to anyone who doesn't know Starbucks has a soy milk option.
