S'mores Fun with a Chocolate Bar: Hershey Gluten Free

Welcome to the bazaar world of Gluten-Free eating. While it seems pretty straight forward on what should and shouldn't have gluten in it there are some places they slip it in that you might not think of.

This is the 1.55 oz. Hershey bar... labeled "Gluten Free: As Always" So you would think all Hershey's Chocolate is Gluten Free, right?

My gluten eating friends are very understanding about my gluten free ways but this was one little fact they were a little baffled on... while a 1.55 oz. Hershey bar is Gluten Free a Hershey bar in any different size is not! Why would you label a product as Always Gluten Free when that is the only form of this product that is!
*Gluten-Free Candy* has an in depth list of candies that are or aren't Gluten Free.

So, having S'mores with friends? Find you a 1.55 oz. Hershey bar. Roast your marshmallow then take a pip from your candy bar and stab the marshmallow and enjoy. I want S'more right now!
(I did not have any graham cracker. I enjoyed eating just the roasted marshmallow with the chocolate but there are graham crackers that come in Gluten Free. If you cook here is a recipes from +Food.com  http://www.food.com/recipe/graham-crackers-gluten-free-340812

Mike and Ike: Italian Ice

Mike and Ike’s Italian Ice
This candy is labeled as Gluten Free

Not sure if I have had Mike and Ike in the past or not but if I had, the fact it’s now made with REAL fruit juice must have greatly improved it! They also use real sugar as a top ingredant. You can get boxes with a variety of themed flavors.

This is their "Italian Ice" set. You can pick up a box at Wal-mart for around 88 cents. Or check out thier website HERE

Over all a nice Gluten Free candy to please your sweet tooth.

My personal overview of the flavors…

Lemon Outside coating has a real lemon flavor the middle taste like a generic jelly bean. The original does not have this "mint" flavor. I’ve never had Italian Ice so maybe it would make more since if I had. My mom really liked the "minty" center flavor. I did not.

Blue Raspberry Not the best rendition of Blue Raspberry and Im a pretty big fan of blue raspberry. Again, the center is a generic jelly bean flavor.

Orange Yum. I like this one! Tastes like one of those cutie baby oranges. Still not digging the bland jellybean center though.

Watermelon Hmm yeah, resembles watermelon. Not crazy about it though… but I’m not a fan or watermelon flavors anyway. Ditto about the center.

Cherry Yeah, cherry. Not bad. But yuck to the Jelly bean flavor center…

My mom brought a box of these home one day in tropical flavors. She also got a hold of the box and ate them all :-> SO… she found some more and bought them but these are the original fruits.
